Born in Sefaatli, Yozgat in 1925, Ismail Yesilyurt received his LL.B from Ankara University, Faculty of Law in 1948 following his upper secondary education in Yozgat High School. Having worked as a judge in Edirne Brigade Command Military Court, he started working as a lawyer in Ankara Bar Association with Bar Register No. 776. He served at the Parliament as Senator of Yozgat between 1964 and 1973. He played a crucial role in the preparation of Attorneys’ Act numbered 1136. He worked as a board member in Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations and Turkish Cement Manufacturers Association.

He trained numerous legal practitioners during his professional life for over 60 years. He initiated the construction of the 18 classroom Ismail Yesilyurt Multi – Program High School in his hometown, Sefaatli in 2003 and donated it to Ministry of National Education of Turkey. Hundreds of students receive education in this school and are getting prepared for their future.

İsmail Yesilyurt has undertaken numerous criminal and civil suits since the day he started working as a lawyer and still serves as an active lawyer in Yesilyurt Law Office that he established together with his son Ihsan Yesilyurt and his granddaughter.
